Susan S. Long, Counsel at the Firm, is a long-time bankruptcy attorney who had served clients in her private practice starting in 2009. Ms. Long brings to the firm experience working with creditors, small businesses, and individuals, and can counsel all on the best options available, whether it is an out-of-court resolution, court-guided restructuring, or the closure of a business and possible liquidation.

Ms. Long started her legal career at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as a law intern in the New York Litigation Division and became the Litigation Management Unit Supervisor where she managed over 1,000 active litigation files from 2003-2004.

Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Long represented the State of New Jersey as a Deputy Attorney General, where she advocated before the Appellate Division of the Superior Court on its behalf. Ms. Long’s trial preparation experience includes case management hearings and pre-trial conferences, interviewing and preparing trial witnesses, and the submission of discovery.

Susan S. Long attended Fordham University School of Law and is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, U.S. District Court of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She currently serves on the board of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and is a member of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey. She has been a presenter and speaker on various topics related to bankruptcy matters and the practice.

Ms. Long is an avid supporter of pro bono services and earned the Equal Justice Medal for her work in 2019.
